I have been using the Tria for 4 months and I am not seeing considerable results yet.
I have the right skin tone and hair color recommended for the use of this product but I see no difference yet. I am Indian with olive skin and black hair. I have had professional laser hair removals treatments before and I know laser hair removal works great so I decided to get this product but the bad part about any laser hair removal is that you have to shave and if the laser is NOT effective you get left with skin that feels like sand paper and that’s not fun for anyone and that’s what I am going through right now and like I said before it’s not fun.

And it is VERY time consuming and the treatment window is too small, that’s why it takes forever.
The invention it self is great, I never thought I would be able to do laser treatment at home but like any other product I think they’ll advance this even further and with time it’ll be more effect for all with a bigger window treatment. This product works best if your have minimal hair that’s not become hard or coarse over time,
But I will continue since I can not return the product my 90 days are up!!
But I think I have to go back to professionally treatments and use the Tria as maintenance so I do not feel like sand paper because feeling sand paper in the hot sweaty summer isn’t fun.

I have very course black hair and have been suffering for my whole life of not being able to go to the beach because of ingrown hairs and/or not being able to shave two days in a row because of them. I bought the Tria thinking it would help cut down how much hair I have, but didn't think it would permanently remove my hair. I followed the directions to a tee and so far, after 4 months of use, have had very good results. As long as you follow the directions, it is awesome! I did my armpits twice and hardly have had any regrowth. I have done my legs from the bikini line to my ankles, and the hair is still growing, but VERY minimal and I am sure once I have completed my treatment, there will be none. The regrowth also takes a lot longer than before. Already, my bikini line hardly has any regrowth, and what there is, is very minimal. I am down to once a month but am very anxious to get rid of it all. I will follow the directions as I don't want a negative reaction or anything, but am finding it very hard to wait. Because of the density of my hair, I went 4 months doing it every 2 weeks, but my next application will be a one month wait. You have to be patient and make sure you do the overlap of area that you zap for best results. If you are in a hurry, don't even bother doing it. You need to take the time to do it properly if you want it to work. I found using the highest strength setting works best for me, but in some areas, especially the armpits, it is quite a sting, but I found the more it hurts, the better the result is after. Talked to a girlfriend who had laser done professionally, and she has already spent over $2500 and still has hair growing. She wants to borrow mine when I am done. So, if you want some dark hair removed, I would suggest you get a Tria! I will write another review when i am done and let everyone know if my total hair removal was successful.

Am: 64, quite hairy all my life with dark hair and light skin. Used the Tria since the 2nd week of April, and am reporting that it has definitely slowed hair growth. Past experience with laser removal and electrolysis in addition to shaving, depilating and waxing. OKAY - Hair - is much less dense, and growing slower, and I am very glad I purchased this device. And I would tell women with a similar profile to go for it. The I would explain more:
1)it is a time consuming process, especially since the Tria uses up its charge in about 25 minutes ( and takes quite a while to recharge). So plan accordingly. Watch tv and zap.
2) One charge session is needed to cover about 1/2 thigh ( a recipe)
3) maybe 1-11/2 session to cover the lower leg
4) and add some coverage time for the knees
5) dense growth areas -like the underarms for me - are more sensitive. It took about 15 minutes to cover both;
6) what areas sting? - Bony ones, like the knees, and if you do them, knuckles, tops of feet and toes ( if you can trick the Tria into firing in these odd spots)
7) I use the highest setting because I have deeply rooted hair follicles. I suspect that if you feel nothing, nothing is happening, but that's for the company to say.

I am happier with the results so far of using the Tria than I would be with doing waxings - it's more cost effective, there's no need to go to a salon, you do not have to put up with the horrid grow out period. But you will not have instant gratification. The fact that I can wear shorts without shaving every or every other day is quite amazing to me. So - looking forward to results in another 3 months>

I am sooo excited about this product! I have beige to light brown skin with very dark thick body hair. Even after shaving my underarms, bikini, and legs you can still see the hair under my skin! Not a cute look :(And the irritation!! red itchy bumps! I struggle so much that I never show my legs or underarms they are always covered up even if I do shave and you would never see me in a bathing suit! I have done waxing and liked the results but hated putting my life on hold so I could wait till my hair grew out long enough so it could be waxed. I had a friend suggest I try laser hair removal. But the cost was crazy!! So when I saw Jenny McCarthy on a T.V. show talking about this product I knew I found my answer!! And the cost of the machine was the same as a laser package for one area! I could'nt believe it! I have done two treatments both on my underarms and legs and I cant believe the results! it was so simple to use and does not take a long time at all. The pain was bearable and you control how strong you want the laser to be. My underarms and legs are finally looking smooth and I don't see the hair under my skin!! the hair that is still growing back is finer and less noticeable! after two treatments! I cant wait to see how everything is after the recommended 3 months of use! some people have said it takes a longtime to recharge but I don't think so, 2 hrs at the most and the battery does last long enough for you to treat more than one area. I cant wait to try it on my bikini area! Summer here I come!! I am in love with product and I'm so happy I found it! :D

The Tria does exactly what it says that it will do! I have been battling facial hair, the dark, course, "manly" facial hair for 13 years. I was the girl that would wake up early before everyone else so that I could spend an hour plucking my chin, upper lip, neck, sideburns and cheeks! I would not let anyone close to me, touch my face, would nver snuggle with my husband as he would feel the stubble! Never could go on an over night stay, camping, what have you, because god forbid, how was I going to sneak in the tweezing, and the perfect light, and I could not go a day in between, or else, I would have the oh so noticeable black hairs growing from my face! I had tried everything from laser hair removal, shaving, threading and plucking. NOTHING worked for me! I have 5 kids, and work a full time and enough was enough, I was at my wits end! Figured, what did I have to lose, with the 90 day guarentee, if the TRIA was going to work on anyone, I was the a perfict canidate! Well, let me tell you!!! I have had the TRIA for a month now, and the first week I was using it daily, only because I had an issue, and not I am using about once every 4 days! I feel incredible! I feel happy again! So I purchaed this product October 2010 and was skeptical at first. I tried other machines in the past and even went to a dermatologist and paid $1,200 for 5 treatments which were a waste and complete pain and humiliation. I saw in ad about this product and decided to purchase it thinking it was worth a shot.
Buying this macine was the best thing i've done and worth every penny. This machine has given me freedom and confidence. I was a really hairy person and was embarassed to wear shorts or even take off my shirt. I've used this product consistently as recommended and have seen a remarkable change.
The hair on my legs and thighs are about 70% gone and what has grown back is thinner, finer and lighter so I stopped treating.
The hair on my butt is 90% completely gone after 18 treatments.
The hair on my lower back is completely gone.
The hair on my chest and stomach is 80% gone and what has grown back is lighter and thinner so I stopped treatment.
The only remaining treatment I have is my arms and have been zapping consistely every two weeks.
You have to be very consistent with your treatments and patient. The only down part is the zapping head is small so covering large areas like I did took a lot of time and charges but I stuck to my goal.
This machine is worth every penny and is very cheap compared to office treatments that will not give you the same results. I am so happy i bought it. It has given me freedom to wear what I want and not be embarrassed. Thank You Tria!

Even though I am not able to report how well the laser has removed hair yet, I am still giving this a 5 star review because the laser has lived up to it's expectations at this point in my treatment schedule. I received this Laser 4X as a gift from my daughter. I bought her a Tria for her acne for Christmas and she has had such good results we were both excited to give the Laser 4X a try. I had been watching the reviews for some time but wasn't sure about the purchase until we saw the excellent results my daughter received with the acne system and how the reviews for it matched her experiences. She purchased a 4x for herself and then as a surprise had one shipped to me. I have only used the Hair Removal system for the first time and am anxious for week two to get here to do another treatment. The system is easy to use. So far I have treated my face, underarms, upper and lower leg and bikini line. Depending on the area I used settings 3-5. You can easily adjust the intensity to your comfort level so there is no need to be more uncomfortable than necessary. So far the only down side is how quickly the battery dies and needs to be recharged. I was able to treat both of my lower legs with one charge and each upper thigh with a charge. There was more than enough charge to treat smaller areas. I forgot to look at the clock to see how long it took to treat an area but it wasn't exceptionally long. I will update my review as the treatment time progresses.

I am amazed at the results I got from the TRIA Hair Removal Laser. I was very skeptical
about paying that kind of money for something I wasn't sure of, but I'm really glad I did!

ok, so it is a lot of money yes, and yep it stings a little the first time but you get over that. You don't see a difference until about the 4th treatment. I am half mexican and half white. I have dark hair everywhere! and I noticed that my hair on the legs grew back finer, and it took longer to grow back, so i got to be hair free for more than a day, when i used to just shave! I love this machine! the only down side is the longer you have it the less it holds it's charge....and i read that in a lot of other reviews and it didn't make a difference until later into my treatments. and it's hard to tell where you did the lazer so try not to over lap too much in one area.

I give an overall rating of FAIR because the intended results of the product have not been achieved as of this date of review 2/22/13.
I have used the Tria on different parts of my body 4 times and I have not noticed any difference. I saw this product on the TV show THE DOCTORS and was super excited about when I finally was able to afford it. I have heard nothing but great reviews. I cannot wax my face because even the most sensitive of wax has ripped the first layer of skin off. Finally, I thought, no more tweezers.
I have used in on upper lip, chin, pubis, toes, feet, and legs. Yes, I have dark blonde/light brown hair and fair skin. But it should be working on the darker (more private area, wink wink). My husband has been using it on his very dark very thick hair and he has not noticed a difference. In addition, the product is too expensive.
We are going to continue to use the product in hopes that it will work. Also, while using it - it starts to overheat and has to cool down. I do like the safety feature in the fact that it will not turn on until touched to the skin. I like the fact that it comes in green not just pink. I loved the box it came in and the instructions and tips that were included. I will amend my review if results of hair removal (the intended purpose of the product) have been achieved.

I am not completely done with my treatments yet - I have been lax in my timing between them. BUT - I have seen great results from the number of treatments I've done. I didn't start seeing results until after the second treatment (as is expected). I didn't notice the ejecting of the hairs, or "shedding" but I did notice I could go for longer between shaving. Also, the battery died when I was literally halfway around one of my legs, and I didn't complete the rest of treatment for that leg. When the hair started coming back there was this perfect line all the way up the front of my shin (the last line I was able to do when the battery died). One side my leg had about half the hair as the other side. Definite proof.
The only cons I've found: can't use while plugged in, weight of the laser. Sometimes when using it my wrist or arm will get tired because of the weight, but it isn't that big of a deal. I do really wish I could use it while it is plugged in - or else that the battery would last a little bit longer. I can do one leg (ankle to knee), both armpits, and bikini line all on one charge, but it dies about halfway around my second leg. Or else I can do both legs (ankle to knee) and both armpits, but just barely. My problem is that when I plug it back in to charge - I usually don't finish the treatment.

I tried this as soon as I saw it mentioned in a magazine, saying it had just been approved to use on facial hair. Facial hair has been the bane of my life since my teen years. SO embarrassing, you don't want anyone to see even a trace, so a lot of time has been devoted to different types of hair removal over the years. Before buying Tria, I was plucking the hairs, which meant plucking at least 60 hairs every day! My hair is very coarse and black, so even one hair really shows. Well, for the first time ever, I would be comfortable leaving the house without taking any action on my face, and I don't think any hair would be visible. Not to mention that I can see the day (not too far ahead) when I won't have to shave my legs or underarms anymore. This is a freedom I never thought possible with my dense, black hair! It does take some time commitment, but when I think of the time I will save in the future, it is very worth it! I only wish it had been on the market when I was a teenager, and I could have saved myself endless hours trying to rid myself of the over-abundance of hair!
I even considered using professional laser treatments, which are much more expensive, but found out that you must let your hair grow out somewhat, an impossible situation for a female with facial hair! So glad this came along!!!

I have a life long membership to I guess what you would call a laser salon. They have locations all over the US. Thought I would try Tria4X due to convenience. It is exactly like the hair removal that you get at the "professional" place. It is much more convenient and goes much quicker than I ever thought it would. The place I use to go to would have to keep taking breaks during my appointments due to the machine getting too hot and heating up. Tria allowed me to do underneath of my arms and my front torso before it needed to recharge. So I will be able to easily fit in weekly sessions for myself to do this. The only thing I will need help with of course is on my back. The unit is also extremely ergonomic as neither hand got tired at all from holding the unit. I actually am truly impressed. I took a chance and actually was a little negative about trying it as I didn't want to feel like I was duped into buying it even though I read all through the website. Well for me it is a positive. It really works just like the place I was going. The ony thing that I would have to say is I guess certain parts of me are a bit sensitive as this does feel just like the professional one. It's not that bad though. It really does work!

Let's be honest here, guys - none of us really likes the thought of a) booking an appointment for hair removal or b) going to a spa to get it done and being surrounded by only female clients. If this sounds like you, then TRIA has a great solution to your anxiety - the hair removal laser. After going through the treatments on most body areas (including the bikini zone), I must say I am quite impressed with the results. The keys here are that I followed the directions word for word, made sure I set aside time when needed to work on ridding myself of hair, and did not tan or darken my skin in any way prior to using the laser. As an ideal candidate (light skin and dark body hair), I believe the TRIA did as efficient a job as I could have expected - bear in mind, however, that I also have a very high pain tolerance, so this process was a walk in the park for me (and I understand everybody's different in this regard). Since I am not a hair removal expert, I went in to the process understanding that I would achieve hair reduction but not complete removal, and this has made the results more positive.
As long as you stick to the plan, great things can be experienced while using the TRIA laser!!!

There are not enough words to describe how extremely happy this product makes me! I am 23 years old and have been searching for a hair-removal product that actually works for a VERY long time. I have only been using the Tria Lazer for about 2 months, and I have already seen drastic results in the reduction of hair re-growth after each treatment (it says in the manual that you might not even see any results until the 3rd month). This product is a life-changing miracle worker! It's indescribable how happy I will be when the hair is gone and I don't have to worry about wearing longer sleeves to cover my underarms in the middle of summer, if anyone will notice my razor burn when I'm wearing a bikini, or wondering how long I will have to wait for the dreaded red bumps to go away before I can shave again.
The most important advice that I can give with this review is to follow the instructions carefully about skin tone. I am sure that this product does not work for everyone, but if you have dark coarse hair and light skin like me, I highly HIGHLY recommend buying it!!!!!!!!!!

I have fair skin and COARSE medium brown hair that is very prone to causing ingrowns with shaving or waxing. I have tried professional laser hair removal in the past (2 treatments about 5 years ago), but it was both too expensive AND too time consuming to have to schedule an appointment. The Tria laser is GREAT. Just as effective as the in-office professional laser hair removal, but much more convenient. I'm using it on my bikini line and underarms. I have treated 4 times so far--each treatment being 7-10 days apart. I have already had about 70% reduction in underarm hair and about 60% reduction in bikini hair. I used it at level 3 for the first two treatments and then level 4 for the next two. I would like to emphasize that this is not a gimmick--it's the real deal, based on real science. I know that because I'm a physician. Not a dermatologist, mind you, but I did get my very first laser (free) hair treatment while in medical school because I volunteered to be a guinea pig for the dermatology residents! If you fit the profile--lighter skin with darker hair--this is a great investment. It does take some time and patience, but it's worth it!

A celebrity I think highly of introduced me to the Tria hair removal system and she can afford the costly visits to her physicians Beauty Spa. Here's what she shared, "No more walk of shame through a busy waiting room and Thank God it looks like a blow dryer instead of something more personal because I take it every time I travel." I had to try it too! I'm over 50 and my sideburns seemed to be growing south...like other parts...and these fury Elvis-chops (that I astutely hid) only accented the crop of hairs that began to grow in a garden on my chin. The estimate to remove all of this at the Spa was an amount I only pay for International flights or something with a gas motor. Welcome the Tria...No more "by the hairs of my chinny-chin-chin" and Elvis has left the room! Now, on to my legs because I am a believer and a Fan! My close friends noticed right away and I have to hide dear little Tria because everyone wants to try it. Note: The occasional motor fan startled me the first time it I was using Tria. As it did my husband who heard the fan come on for a few moments while it was charging. "Honey, something is humming in your dressing room!"

I was super excited to purchase the Tria laser. I had gone back and forth for a while trying to determine what laser hair system to by and whether I wanted to invest in the Tria. Once I had finally committed to Tria and received the product I used it faithfully for the first three months, but the time it took to a) charge the laser, b) use the laser, and c) the short duration the battery lasted on the laser makes using it cumbersom and limiting, because if you you don't have time to use, charge, use, charge then you can't even complete a whole leg in one sitting. After the laser is fully charged, I can basically due the whole of my calf and then the battery dies. To be charged in full the laser needs to be connected to an outlet for roughly three hours. If the laser could be used while plugged in or came with a backup battery pack so that more of the body could be covered in one sitting I would find the laser far less limiting and frustrating and would have been more likely to keep up with the reccomended treatment schedule. As it stands I am disappointed in the product and the purchase.

I purchased and started using my Tria in February. I mostly wanted it for my bikini area and underarms but I also used it on my legs. I used to tweeze and wax my bikini area and since I had to start shaving instead I think that's one of the reasons why I can't really tell if it's making a huge difference. Shaving obviously made it grow back faster and thicker than before but now about 4 months later the hair is growing back more slowly and there's not as many hairs. BUT it's definitely not gone yet. (I still have hope that if I keep up the treatment it will keep getting better). I also used it on my underarms (where I didn't have a ton of hair anyway) and it also seems to be getting less hair but it's not gone yet. I only treated my legs for the 1st couple months and it only seemed like it grew back a little slower but then trying to do all of those areas every other week (especially the legs because of how long it took to cover that much area) was too much and I decided to wait to do my legs until I've gotten my bikini and underarms done. So I guess I'll wait and see.

First off Dark hair..working chest stomach butt lower back and genital areas.
I am on my 5th month going on 6th. I have religiously done this the weekend of every payday so as not to forget.

Results so far...
Chest, stomach and back areas all on 5 (had to work to get there).Sseems smoother for longer but still hard to tell if anything is permanently gone. some spots seem like there gone but still show black spots where the root would seem to be. most area still grows back by the 2nd week.
Butt I do on 3 or 4 comes back pretty quickly it seems and i cant tell if its working.
Genitals... I mostly work around the genitals without much problem at 3. some spots 4. I also DO the genitals but at 2 without any sort of discomfort 3 i can stand it (feels hot). Seems to work around the genitals rather well..heavy follicles in specific areas dont seem to be coming back as fast or as thick. On the genitals its hard to tell because the lighter hair color and spread out thinner hair.
So far I'm hopeful the claims made are true but not entirely convinced just yet.
